Online course on entrepreneurship and starting a business
A FOUR-week online course will aim to give participants an understanding of entrepreneurship and provide tips on how to bring business ideas to fruition.
ocal Enterprise Office Wexford is behind the course, which starts on Tuesday, April 26.
During the first session, participants will engage in a personal skills analysis, in addition to assessing their personals goals and reasons for wanting to start a business. The course will look at how to develop a business idea into a viable start-ups that can monetise a product or service.
The second session will look at legal structures, how to register a business name and a domain name and give an introduction to tax.
The course will then focus on business planning, including the main elements when devising such a plan, and setting strategic goals and objectives. It will offer guidance on cash-flow forecasting in the first year.
Participants will also get a grounding in the main principles of marketing, including identifying and meeting customer needs, developing a marketing plan, how to promote a start-up and conducting market research.
A session on finance will provide an introduction to small business finance, as well as looking at sources of funding, business costs, pricing and accounting options. The final session will look at the basics of good financial management, ranging from book-keeping to taxes.
